Mixed fortunes for City of Derry bowlers

THE Northern Ireland Provincial Bowling Association Progressive Building Society Senior League saw City of Derry lose heavily 93-61 to Dunluce, they did however bounce back with a 76-63 victory at Coleraine, but they lost again 71-82 at Portrush.

In the Progressive Division One, Brooke Park beat Cookstown B 75-60 and Limavady had an impressive 106-67 home success over Ballycastle. In the Progressive Division Two City of Derry B had a narrow 71-70 victory over Kilrea, while Limavady B beat Castlerock 68-65, while in Division Three Dungiven narrowly defeated neighbours Lisnagelvin 58-57.

In the Progressive Piggott Cup first round Limavady fell at the first hurdle lost 97-49 at Portrush, while in the Progressive Hyland Donaghy Cup first round Lisnagelvin lost 53-89 to Letterkenny.

Tomorrow (Thursday) sees the NIPBA Pairs second round take centre stage; while on Friday evening the NIPBA Triples second round is down for decision.

On Saturday City of Derry travel to Bangor, while Limavady entertain Shorts in the IBA Senior Cup, in the IBA Junior Cup also on Saturday Limavady visit Dunbarton, Brooke Park travel to Cloughey, Lisnagelvin take on Portrush while City of Derry host Bank of Ireland. On Monday, May 24 the NIPBA Singles first round continues, while next Tuesday in the Progressive Division One Brooke Park face Ballymoney B and Limavady are away to Magherafelt.

Next Wednesday, May 26, in the Progressive Division Two Brookgreen B host City of Derry B and Limavady B face Fairhill, while in the Progressive Division Three Dungiven host Dunluce B and Lisnagelvin visit Riada.
