They have beaten Queens Seconds, who were sitting second in the table, 2-0 at home then they suffered a heart breaker in Magherafelt in the McConnell Shield.

Having gone a goal up to a goal down they fought back to level pegging and then dominated extra time only to watch the Rainey goal keeper pull off three fabulous saves to send them out on flicks.

Last Saturday they played league leaders Lisnagarvey. Again it was nip and tuck and with 20 minutes on the clock Lurgan earned their third short corner.

Julie Morrow at top of circle slipped the ball right to Chelse Holden and received the return. When the shot came it was deflected right where it found Tara McIlwaine who fired it home.

In the second half the majority of the play was Lurgan’s, but a momentary lapse gifted the visitors the equaliser.

Lurgan pushed on to the finish but couldn’t find the back board again and the match ended with honours even at 1-1.
