Mixed Results for Dalriada against Ballyclare HS

Dalriada II team played Ballyclare at the Joey Dunlop leisure centre on Saturday.

The match resulted in a 1-1 draw. The first goal went to Ballyclare in the first half of match but the score was quickly evened out by a great goal from Bekah Kennedy in the second half. The team would like to thank Nikki Park for umpiring and Mrs Cleland for coaching.

Dalriada III played against Ballyclare High School at The Joey Dunlop Centre. In which Ballyclare came out winning with 3-0.

In the first half, Dalriada came very close to scoring, however missed by a small amount. Ballyclare then scored to make their team 1-0 up, however Dalriada kept playing with determination.

With great runs up the line Dalriada were hopeful but in the second half Ballyclare then scored twice making the score 3-0.

All the girls played excellently, Susan Gilmore (left defence) played especially well, defending the ball from getting to the goal keeper and was player of the match. The team would like to thank Mrs Bridget Cleland and the Ballyclare umpire for umpiring the match.

Also Dalriada U14 B team played Ballyclare High School. With the score finishing 0-0. The teams were well matched and it was a tight match.

There were opportunities for goals which the girls, unfortunately, missed. Ballyclare fought back and brought the ball down the line to score, but Dalriada’s player of the match, Cara Telfer (sweeper), intercepted it and tackled Ballyclare. Other girls who played well were Adrianne Stewart (left back) and Jill Hutchison (right midfield). The team would like to thank Miss Wharry for coaching them.

The under 13 B’s also played against Ballyclare High School.

They drew but could of scored once or twice.Ballyclare played very well and had many chances to score but didn’t due to our exceptionally good defenders and goal keeper Rachel Anderson,Emily Brown,Karen McLaughlin,Chole Jennings and Ellen (first year).

Holly Barr (left wing) played very well,as did Rachel Anderson (goal keeper) as she saved every shot by Ballyclare, with Katie Ferriby tackling very well! The player of the match was Rachel Anderson (goal keeper) for saving every shot and for great hits away from the goal out out wide! The team would like to thank Miss Wharry who was the umpire and Ballyclares’ coach.
