'Money hockey girls draw a blank with Cork

IN an uneventful affair in Garryduff both sides cancelled each other out for a 0-0 final score on Sunday.

Both sides entered this game knowing that a chance at a spot in the finals weekend was not possible so both were playing for pride and also to practise some new tactics in a match that result was otherwise meaningless.

The highlight of the first half was a penalty stroke given to Ballymoney on the half time whistle to give them a golden opportunity to take a one nil lead but Susie Martin’s effort was well saved by Orla McCarthy to keep her side level at the break.

The second half continued, with neither side looking likely to break the deadlock, as the sides continued to match and cancel each other out. Both sides had opportunities courtesy of a number of short corners awarded but neither side could find the golden touch today to take the lead and three points
