Moneyslane team aiming to complete historic double

THE Moneyslane team aiming to complete the double in the Beckett Cup final on Friday night:

Clifford Sterritt - centre forward - Has scored 41 goals already this season. An unbelievable centre forward who has a massive work rate, gets behind defenders and leads by example. Hard to mark and scores in most games and has hit seven in one game already this season. Age 31.

Thomas McCann - left midfield - Signed from Banbridge Town at start of season; quick, fast and very skilful. Scored eight goals this season and is very hard to mark with his pace and speed. Age 22.

Neil Bingham - centre midfielder - Great distributor of the ball and very good in the air. Neil is one of the best passers of the ball ever to wear the Slane shirt and one of the Slane’s longest serving players on the pitch. He was captain when Slane lifted the Newcastle League Cup in 2002. Age 27.

Gary Bickerstaff - goalkeeper - Has shown a safe pair of hands throughout the season and has played in almost every game this season. Great shot stopper. Age 25.

Christopher McConville - right back - Chris has slotted into right back half way through the season, has proved to be the man for the job and still manages to get forward to score goals. Very good in the air.

William McCahon - Centre back who has come on leaps and bounds this season and has been one of Slane key players in the league title success. Hard, strong in the air and fearless. Age 30.

Rodney McCann - Has been in and out of the team this season and is very skilful on the ball. Can slot in anywhere on the pitch and covers a lot of ground. Age 37.

Glen Moffett - Player/manager who has took the team to a different level this season, has the league title to show for all his hard work this season. Can he pull off the double? Time will tell. Age 36.

Mark Ervine - Mark has picked up a few injuries this season which have kept him out of the squad but when available he plays in the centre midfield or forward role and is very strong, works tirelessly throughout the game. Age 24.

Neill Wilson - centre back - Always reliable and wins most of the aerial balls. Hard tackler who gives 100% every game and is committed to the shirt. Age 33.

Jason Niblock - Jason has been in and out of the squad all season and has scored in every game he has started in this season, knows where the net is. Good in the air and plays left wing. Age 34.

Andrew Rowan - Andy is a real die hard Slane man, has been for many years now and gives his all. Totally fearless in midfield and fires himself into everything. This is his second cup final in a row. Age 31.

Neville Gibbons - A great signing from Rathfriland Football Club this season and one of the best centre backs in the local area. Neville gives 110% every game, is a great passer of the ball and unbelievable in the air. Age 34.

Mark Anderson - Mark has been carrying an injury in the latter part of the season but has really matured this season and was on fire in the first part of the season scoring with ease. Mark plays up the right flank and has great ball control. Age 22.

John Davenport - Captain of the team and a real leader who plays at left back and probably the best left back in the whole league this season. John gives 100% every game and works hard on and off the pitch. Age 29.

Timmy Graham - Timmy has proved a worthwhile signing this season and is very nippy up the right flank. Great ball control, a great distributor and his fitness level is unbelievable. Age 31.

Jason Fairley - Jason had improved as the season has went on and is capable of playing at this standard of football. Scored the goal of the season last week in the crunch match which lifted Slane the title. Age 20.
