Monster Energy Portrush Surf Open to be held at end of month

THE Causeway Coast Surf Club, in association with Coleraine Borough Council and the ISA will host the Monster Energy Portrush Open on September 25 and 26.

The event will have 8 categories - Men's Open, Women's Open, Longboard, Men's Bodyboard, Women's Bodyboard, Seniors, Masters and SUP.

The entry is 10 per category, with entry forms available from www.causewaycoastsurfclub.com or by emailing [email protected]

Also planned for the contest weekend is a full line up of entertainment, with a surf movie and DJ's at The Playhouse in Portrush on the Friday evening and live music and DJ's on Saturday evening.

In conjunction with the contest an exhibition "This is Irish Surfing" will run all weekend. The exhibition is a celebration of Irish surf art and photography featuring some of Ireland's top surf artists and photographers.

"DubSurf" will roll into town on Sunday bringing an old skool retro VW flavour to the beach.

For this year's contest organisers have commissioned very unique trophies and there will be a wide range of prizes from our sponsors. The whole event promises to be a real surf festival in Portrush.
