Mossley seconds make it a promotion clean-sweep

Mossley Ladies 2nd XI completed the full house of promotions for all the club’s ladies’ senior teams when they took a point from a 0-0 draw with Ards IV at the weekend.

The promotion decider was a hard-fought encounter with both defences on top for the majority of the match. Grace Clarke and Kathryn Lorimer saw good shots blocked while keeper Maria Hall was solid between the sticks.

Mossley Ladies celebrated their huge success in the 2014/15 season with their annual prize-giving on Saturday.

Mossley Men had 11 members representing Ulster in the Masters Interpovincial tournament at Lisnagarvey. The Province secured the title for the O-50s and O-55s sections.

Meanwhile, the thirds and fifths hosted North Down and Portrush at The Glade on Saturday. The fifths came away with all three points in a 3-1 win thanks to Gerry Hamill who netted a brace and a Peter Younger goal.

The thirds fell to a 4-3 defeat in a close contest. Mark Lee, Leigh Young and Alan Russell were on target for the home side.
