Motorcycle festival is a roaring success

"The show was a great success," said promoter Billy Nutt after the doors closed on Sunday on the Adelaide Motorcycle Festival at Belfast's King's Hall. "I was delighted with the crowd turn out over the three days of the show and thank everyone for their support."

New date for Irish Championship

The Motor Cycle Union of Ireland - Ulster Centre took the decision on Wednesday February 9th to help out the Irish Superbike Championship in 2010.

The Ulster Centre is adding a new date to the Championship calendar to replace some of the dates regrettably dropped by Mondello Park this year, in order to give support to Ulster Centre licence holders.

At the meeting on Wednesday night everything was agreed to include the May 1st for a round of Irish Superbike Championship at Kirkistown Race Circuit. It has also been confirmed that on May 8th the centre will also run an additional Irish Clubman's Championship event at Kirkistown Circuit.

Both of these events will be promoted under Ulster Centre Sports Promotions and it is hoped that with these extra dates and ongoing talks with Mondello Park and Motorcycling Ireland hopefully a 22 round championship can still be secured in 2010. Read a statement from the MCUI Ulster centre. Since then it seems that Mondello Park has decided to run with the Irish Championship which is good news for competitors.
