BE Racing back on track

The team are forging ahead with plans to continue in 2013 with continued backing from their loyal sponsors; Cookstown and H2 Engineering & The Joni B Road Racing Supporters club.

John Burrows is really looking forward to the 2013 season with vigour, having signed up two riders to ride for the BE Racing team.

Crumlin’s Stephen Thompson, a former front runner in the British Superstock championships , will ride the BE Racing Superbike at the Three Internationals and the end of season race at Macau, whilst Bush rider, Nigel Moore will bring his years of experience to ride in the Supertwins class.

Thompson, a former runner in the British Superstock championships, has top 5 placings at both the North West 200 and Macau road races.

Moore, who won the Supertwins race at the Manx Grand Prix last year, on what was his first ride on a supertwin, and his speed was good enough to give him 8th place at the same class in the IOM TT races!

Nigel, from the Bush in Tyrone, is probably best known for his results on two stroke bikes, but is eagerly looking forward to the new challenge in the Supertwin class.

Team Manager, John Burrows, said “A week ago, I decided that BE Racing would go ahead for the 2013 season.

“In a very short space of time, I was able to tie up a deal with Stephen and Nigel, both of whom, I have known over the years.

“To have Cookstown and H2 Engineering on board again, along with the Joni B Road Racing Supporters’ Club, is an added bonus for the team.

“I am really looking forward to the new challenge for BE Racing.

“Road racing is going through a rough patch at the moment.

“I’ve had a good time in the competition side of the sport, and I hope by putting BE Racing back on track, I am putting something back into the
sport.

“It goes without saying, that Trevor (Ferguson) and Nigel were the best of friends, and I am sure Trevor would have been the first to congratulate Nigel on getting this ride.”

Stephen Thompson added, “I’m very happy to be riding for John. He was always a very professional rider and the bikes and set up are as good as you can get in the paddock. I’m hoping I can learn some stuff off him, especially at the IOM TT.”

A delighted Nigel Moore said, “It was a shock, but I didn’t need asking a second time! John runs a very professional set up, and I am just proud to be asked to be part of it, I will be doing my best and I can’t wait”
