Carrick club set to host EnduroCross in Glenarm

Grasstrack, supercross, motocross and cross country disciplines have all been promoted by the Carrickfergus and District Motorcycle Club in recent years, but now they have another fresh and exciting race event coming up - a Super EnduroCross!

The EnduroCross will be one of the many attractions during the Dalriada Festival in Glenarm, and it’s shaping up to be one of the highlights of the Irish Motorcycling calendar.

The Super EnduroCross will take place on Thursday, July 18 with racing on track from 6:30pm at the Old Glenarm Quarry, situated just off the Coast Road in Glenarm. EnduroCross is Supercross-like in format, with races kept short, sharp and action-packed! Each race tests the competitors to their limits with steep drops, banked turns, jumps and a bomb hole thrown in for good measure. One of the main features will be the stadium section running alongside the spectator area, where some of Ireland’s top riders will have to negotiate a water splash, rock garden and the gruelling log and barrel combinations.

Event Manager Peter Denney thanked Nigel Campbell, events and marketing manager of the Glenarm Estate for making the race possible. “On behalf of the club I‘d like to thank Nigel for having the vision to have an off-road event as part of the festival week. It is a tremendous honour for the club to be offered this opportunity to showcase off road motorcycling to the mass public and this is a fantastic place to do it,” he said.
