The 20-year-old from Aghadowey finished third in race one at the Kent circuit on Saturday, which was enough to secure the title on the Team 109 Kawasaki.

McGlinchey won seven races in his first full season in the series, underlining his potential.

His victory and third place finish in the previous round at Oulton Park gave him an advantage of 43 points over nearest rival Brian Hart, meaning a top seven finish would be enough to put the championship to bed.

McGlinchey will be in action at the Sunflower Trophy meeting at Bishopscourt in Co. Down next weekend, when he will ride for McAdoo Racing in the Supertwins class.
