Grasstrack event returns to Larne

Off-road motorcycle racing returns to Larne this week with the Carrickfergus and District Motorcycle Club grasstrack events at Ballymullock Road, just a short distance from Millbrook.

Youth competitors will take to the track on Tuesday (June 10) before a line-up of more seasoned sidecar racers compete for the Robert Blair Memorial Trophy, kindly donated to the club by Robert’s daughter, Roberta Blair.

The focus turns to the adult section on Wednesday evening (June 11) when the Premier Solo and Quad racers do battle around the short Quay Park circuit.

Backing up the feature races are the Clubman and EVO classes. Headline sponsor Norman Watt Motorcycles have generously supplied awards for the various classes to add some extra spice to proceedings on both nights.

Spectator admission on Tuesday night is free, while Wednesday’s feature evening is priced at £5 per adult. Kids under 16 years old can avail of free admission when accompanied by an adult.

Free parking is provided on site and the venue will be signposted from Millbrook roundabout in Larne.

Racing begins at 6.30 pm on both nights and spectators can watch the action from the designated viewing areas.
