Riders and spectators who have been to Dalway’s Bawn in previous years will notice some big changes to the track layout now additional land has been made available to use. Organisers say the new, longer lap will make the circuit flow faster in sections and provide a number of more technical places to challenge the competitors as they race to see who will draw first blood of the new season.

On-track entertainment will be provided by two, three and four-wheeled machines in a variety of different classes including Clubman MX1 & MX2, Veteran, Quad and Sidecars.

The main attraction, as always will be the Norman Watt Motorcycles Premier Class which features some of Ireland’s top solo motocross riders from across the country.

Reigning Premier Champion, Richard Bird (Suitor Bros KTM) has already confirmed he will be back to defend his crown, but with entries expected from the likes of Drew Goudy, Richard Watt and Niall McAuley, he won’t have an easy task ahead.

Elevated spectator areas around the perimeter of the course will be excellent for viewing all the action as it unfolds and with a full day admission priced at just £5 per adult (Under-14’s free) it is a fantastic day out for all the family. Racing is scheduled to begin around 11am and run on to approximately 4.30pm.

The series is again backed by long-time sponsors, Norman and Richard Watt from Watt Motorcycles, while local business Scarlett DIY is on board sponsoring the Veterans’ Class for 2013.
