Kennedy among riders confirmed for King’s Hall bike event

The Dubliner, who performed so well at World Supersport over the past couple of seasons, will be at the event, which runs from February 6-8.

Further details will be announced this Wednesday at a press conference.

Kennedy, the Irish Minimoto champion from 2002, worked his way up through the ranks and after moving to WSS in 2013, signed for the PTR team in 2014. He finished the year in 12th place in the championship, despite having 5 non finishes. His best result was 4th in Spain.

For 2015 he returns to Britain in the British Superbike series, arguably the most hotly contested domestic series in the World.

Other confirmed guests are Dean Harrison and Conor Cummins. Harrison will compete in the official Yamaha team on roads this year, which will be run by Mar Train, while Cummins will race for the factory Honda squad, partnered by John McGuinness.

MCUI TRAINING SCHOOLS

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that the dates were almost finalised for the MCUI Training Schools.

They have now been decided. All on Sundays, the dates are 15th and 21st February and the 1st March.

As I have said before, all newcomers must take part in these sessions otherwise a licence will not be issued.

BUSH APPEAL

As you will know by now, the 2105 Bush road race meeting will not take place. At the start I, along with everybody else, was informed that the club had folded, and even that all the signage etc was for sale.

I don’t know whether or not there has been a rethink with the club, but there is to be a meeting in the Cohannon Inn at the end of the month to try to salvage the meeting.

A club spokesperson said: “We would like as many people as possible to come along and join our club members to work together to try to salvage the Bush road race.

“We believe that with everyone working together we can bring this great event back onto the annual motorcycle calendar. We hope to do so in 2016.”

The meeting will take place in the Cohannon at 2pm on Saturday 31st January.

Personally I would love to see the Bush back. It’s a great wee meeting and the organising club have worked far too hard to let it go down the pan.

It’s also one of the best viewing tracks for spectators in the North.
