Meet the Riders at Roadside Vauxhall Coleraine ahead of Armoy Races

On Tuesday evening from 7pm to 8.30pm Ryan Farquhar, who is now the team manager of the KMR Kawasaki team powered by Vauxhall Northern Ireland dealers, along with road racer RJ Woolsey will be talking about life on the roads at the Roadside Vauxhall garages.

Ian Lamont, Sales Manager at Roadside Vauxhall extends a warm welcome to all saying ”I hope that everyone comes along and enjoys the chance to meet one of the greatest road racers in Ireland along with one of the future stars of racing RJ Woolsey.

“Ryan Farquhar is considered one of the best road racers in history, having won the Dukes Road Race Rankings four times along with holding the most Irish national wins by any one rider at 127. Liam Beckett will be talking Ryan through a lap of the TT where he won on the Production 600 race on a Kawasaki in 2004 and then in the 2005 TT Supersport where he achieved victory one again.

“This will be a great evening. There’ll be spot prizes, opportunities for autographs and photographs. Motoplus Kawasaki will display their latest Kawasaki range in addition to some of the Armoy merchandise available and you can order the Vauxhall Limited edition Shoei Helmet. As sponsor of the Armoy Super Twins race we wanted to do something extra special during the Race Festival Week. Road Racing is at the heart of the community and this is one way of celebrating our own home grown road racers and our local race.”

Bill Kennedy, Clerk of the Course of Armoy Road Races, said, “I’m looking forward to Tuesday evening. This type of event is rarely open to the ordinary fan who can come along and enjoy a bit of chat and the‘craic’. Farquhar is widely regarded as one of the most stylish and accomplished riders in motorcycle road racing. There is no doubt that during his road-racing career he has had highs and lows.

“At Armoy he did exceptionally well, 11 wins, two ‘man of the meetings’ and a few lap records. He’ll be missed on the track this year but in such a short time he has come along way as team manager and credit goes to where credit is due. RJ Woolsey is an experienced competitor on road race circuits and has achieved top results on some of the national road races. I’ll be waiting to see what he can do at Armoy but first I’ll hear what he has to say first.”
