The 2015 Superbike World Champion was a delighted and popular winner of the Joey Dunlop Trophy.

“Its amazing to win this award as it has been a few years since I won it last. It’s the most iconic award to win in motorcycling in Northern Ireland. It means a lot to me,” the Ballyclare rider said.

“I had the best year of my career winning the world championship and this will be a great memory of that. I get to keep the trophy for another year but my year now is scrubbed and I have to start from zero and try and do it all again.

“One of the most special things is coming back home and spending the night with all the motorcycle enthusiasts and the talent from all the different disciplines of motorcycle sport”.

Rea also lifted the short circuit rider of the year award at Friday’s bash.
