Reid scores first World Championship points
Jordanstown’s Andy Reid made his debut in the World Championship Supersport class at Donington last weekend on board the CORE Motorsport Thailand Honda.
He scored his first World Championship points as he finished a respectable 10th after battling with Lucas Mahias and Nikki Tuuli throughout the 20-lap race which was won by championship leader Kenan Sofuoglu on the Puccetti Racing Kawasaki.
“The team worked hard all weekend and I suppose tenth isn’t too bad,” he said. “The Honda had nothing in common with the Yamaha I use in British Championship, so it was hard to get used to.
“Still, I enjoyed the weekend it was just a pity I couldn’t have finished higher up the order.”
