Season ends in sun shine

THE North of Ireland Motor Club’s season came to an end on Saturday at the ’King of Kilfennan Barley Stubble’ race, at Nixon’s Corner.

What a way to finish what has been a tremendous season for everyone involved, as in near perfect sunny conditions at the weekend, spectators, riders and everyone involved were treated to another exciting days racing.

It was another great and safe successful year and the North of Ireland Motor Club would like to thank the land owners, who gave the fields for the races to take place this season, Chambers and Philip Loughlin of Donemana pit.

They are hoping to promote more youth riders, for next year after what was a great youth championship this season and they are hopeful of getting more members and more non-riding members for next season.

The club’s next monthly meeting takes place in the YMCA Drumahoe, on Monday, October 8, at 8pm sharp.

Next year the club is really hoping to increase their schoolboy membership, because if they don’t have any school boys coming through then they won’t have any riders in the future.

The club believe that race day is a great day out for all the family and seeing a young rider starting at five-years-old, then coming through the ranks, riding on bigger bikes and improving each year is fantastic.
