Turbo-Charged Deal Puts North West 200 in the Fast Lane for 2013

Vauxhall is the new title sponsor of Ireland’s largest outdoor sporting event, the Vauxhall International 2013 North West 200 which will take place from Sunday 12th – Saturday 18th May 2013.

Event director Mervyn Whyte MBE revealed the dates for the 2013 event along with details of a new race format with three races planned for Thursday evening (16th May) - Superstock, Supertwin and Supersport as well as a fresh race line up for Saturday Race Day (18th May) which will feature a new Supertwin class alongside the traditional two Superbike races, Superstock and Supersport events.

The deal with Vauxhall Motors allows North West 200 organisers to increase the event’s profile not only locally but across GB and Europe. Giving a unique insight into some of the new developments that the partnership with Vauxhall Motors will bring to the event, North West 200 chief Mervyn Whyte explained that for the first time ever North West 200 together with Vauxhall will exhibit at the hugely popular Motorcycle Live 2012 show at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre.

The 10 day show which each year attracts over 100,000 bike fans from throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe, kicks off on 24th November and the Vauxhall North West 200 team will use the event as an opportunity to showcase new pre-Christmas discount race packages and hospitality tickets as well as promoting Race Week and key attractions in the North Coast region. The extensive 88 sq metre Vauxhall NW200 stand will host a star line up of high profile road racers as well as live rider interviews with race pundits Steve Parrish and Jimmy Whitham on the Blackhorse Stage.

Further new elements to the Vauxhall International 2013 North West 200 will include a re-designed interactive website aimed at inspiring and captivating both new and existing users. The new website will be available under a brand new URL www.vauxhallnorthwest200.co.uk. Currently under development is a purpose built Vauxhall NW200 App putting all the latest Vauxhall North West 200 news and developments right at the fingertips of riders and race goers alike. The App will allow users to purchase tickets, view rider timings, event listings and social media integration. Also set to be launched is a brand new Vauxhall North West 200 Shoei Replica Limited Edition XR11 helmet which will be available from NW200 and selected outlets through Feridax - official importer for Shoei.
