Whyte signs up riders at Macau

Vauxhall International 2013 North West 200 event director Mervyn Whyte MBE undertook his own ‘trade’ mission to China to secure a number of riders for next year’s event which features three Thursday evening races on 16th May and a five race Saturday programme on May 18.

Mervyn is pictured at Macau during the Grand Prix week-end with Austrian competitor Horst Saiger and Morecambe star John McGuinness. Both riders have confirmed they plan to enter next year’s motorbike North Coast festival of racing. Saiger who made his NW200 debut in 2012 competed in the Superstock, Supersport and Superbike classes whilst North West veteran McGuinness has six NW200 wins under his belt.

Macau is a short ferry ride from its more famous sister island Hong Kong and Mervyn Whyte joined First Minister Peter Robinson and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness at a business and tourism event in Hong Kong, which marked the Ministers final stop on their six day trade and investment tour of key Chinese cities.
