Moyola hit three to progress against Annagh in CIS Cup

SUBSTITUTE Aaron Wallace was the hero for Moyola Park as the home side scored three late goals to land a place in the draw for Round Three of the CIS Cup.

It was the Annagh who started the game on top with Wilkinson and Upritchard putting pressure on the Moyola back four.

On seven minutes Wilkinson almost got on the end of a Heron cross but the shot was blocked. The first real chance of the game fell to Heron who fired just over from the edge of the box.

Midway through the half a McDonald free kick was met by Murdock 10 yards out but he headed just over.

The Annagh were well on top with Murdock and Tumilty influential in midfield and Keegan looking dangerous down the left. Moyola had the chances as well and after a routine save at his near post Creaney made an excellent save tipping a header over the bar. Annagh finished the half strong but failed to break the deadlock.

The key moment in the game came on midway through the half when a Keegan cross saw Murdock and McErlean beat the offside trap but from eight yards and under no pressure from any defenders Murdock controlled but then somehow blasted over.

Moyola took the lead in the 68th minute when a long punt up field was partially cleared and Wallace hit a half volley from 25 yards into the bottom corner.

Annagh tried to respond and Murdock headed just wide from a free kick. Blevins then cut inside but had his shot charged down.

With 10 minutes to go Annagh went for broke and Best and McGurgan came on for Heron and Riddle.

Moyola doubled their lead in the 82nd minute when Annagh had a throw in at the edge of Moyola box the ball was lost and Moyola broke down the left with Wallace crossing for Shimmon who side footed the ball past Creaney in the visitors goal.

Moyola got their third in the 90th minute when a rash tackle by Crowe on Wallace gave Moyola a penalty which was converted by Kernoghan.
