MUSA Park Run record for Corey

Congratulations to Sperrin Harrier Gavin Corey who finished first at Cookstown Parkrun in a course record of 16.30.

Other Sperrin Harriers competing were Paul McLaughlin 19.09(PB), Martin Donaghy 20.57, Jason O’Neill 21.35(PB), Arthur Carson 21.39(PB), Toirleach Gourley 21.42, Barry O’Neill 21.46, Patsy Hughes 22.51, Adrian Rea 22.51, Thomas McDonald 25.13, Hannah Su 25.23, and Alison Colgan 33.05.

Craigavon Park Run 5k- Sperrin Harrier Eamon Cushnahan ran another PB in a time of 20.17.

Portrush Park Run 5k- Davy O’Brien coming back from long term injury ran the course in a time of 27.40.

Ballyhegan Park N Stride 5k and 10k- Over 140 runners took part in the annual 5K and 10K race last Friday evening in warm conditions.

This testing course took the runners along the trails and lanes through the scenic Loughgall Country Park. Sperrin Harriers were represented by David Moan in the 5K race who finished in a time of 22.26.

In the 10k race Gareth Cardwell finished 8th in a time of 41.41, while Toirleach Gourley, Barry O’Neill and Patsy Hughes completed in times of 45.24, 47.23 and 47.28 respectively.

Upcoming races- The Shore 10k, Killough, Downpatrick on Friday 11th July at 7.30pm; Great Rossa Run Half Marathon, 10k and 5k on Sunday 13th July at 10am.

Stanley Reid Memorial 5M- Sperrin Harriers will host their annual Cookstown 5 mile classic sponsored by Kristen Luxury Bathrooms Limited on Friday 1st August at 7.30pm.

This year the race has been re-named in memory of Stanley Reid, founder of the race and original Chairman of Cookstown Harriers, the club which reformed to become Sperrin Harriers.

Training continues as usual at 6.30pm on Tuesday and Thursday nights at Loughry and anyone wishing to train on Sunday morning can contact Sean Donnelly on 07518983646.
