The conditions were poor with very cold water and a strong wind with the trout feeding on the bottom. Lures and buzzers fished deep produced the best results.

The overall winner on the day was Paul Nash with 27 trout, he was closely followed by Garry Stewart who finished second with 20 trout. Sammy Irwin landed the best trout on the day with a fine fish of 63cm.

The Junior winner was Corrin McCook who caught two trout and Harry Simpson had the best trout by a junior of 54cm.

The charity competition and barbecue for Meningitis Research will be held on Saturday 8th June from 1pm.

Glenda Powell from Blackwater Lodge will be doing some casting demonstrations and there will be fly-tying demonstrations and archery amongst other activities with all welcome to attend.

Anglers are also advised to note that DCAL Baliffs have been visiting Dunalis to check for rod licences and all members should keep it with them when fishing.
