National finals success for local bowlers

THERE was success for a number of local bowlers in Saturday’s Irish Indoor Bowling Association national finals.

In the Stonebridge-sponsored event, played at Richhill Recreation Centre, the Morrison family from First Ahoghill lifted the rinks title.

Tom, William, Andrew and David overcame the challenge of the Enniskillen four to take the title.

They will now represent Ireland in the British Isles Championships in Dumfries later this year

There was more success for locals as Robert Black and Doran Turtle, of Broughshane BFA, became the first Mid Antrim players to lift the Over 55s title when they overcame previous winners Jim Gault and Edwin Irwin.
