Neal regains title as annual President's Cup contest is held

Lisburn Racquets Mens Cup Champion, Neal McDowell, receives the cup from LRSC President, Norman Briggs.

Neal McDowell regained the Men’s Cup after overcoming last year’s winner and close rival, Stuart Campbell, in a very evenly matched final.

In the Women’s final, June Fahy beat fellow veteran Hilda MacBride in three tight games, June chipping away at her opponent’s hefty handicap advantage to take home the women’s cup.

The men’s plate was won by Donal McCann who overcame Ciaran Devine in another nail-biting 3-setter, Donal’s experience and superior fitness just enough to close the substantial handicap difference.

Club coach Kieran Doherty was presented with the Ulster Squash Coach of the Year Award.

Kieran honoured the Lisburn Racquets Squash Juniors who represented Ulster over the course of the season, and presented prizes to the Junior Squash Cup Winners, and Junior Club-Person of the Year, Alex McHenry.
