Nesbitt becoming a rising star in world archery

After the individual competition he is now ranked 27th in the world in Men’s Recurve Archery. Mark was competing in Croatia as part of Archery GB’s Senior men’s team.

In the team event Mark, Simon Terry and Larry Godfrey from Team GB progressed well and got through to the bronze medal match, where they were very narrowly beaten by China.

Although only 18 years of age, Mark is continuing to progress up the ranks of GB Archery. April 2010 was a key month when he took part in the selection shoots for both Junior and Senior GB teams at the National Sports Centre, Lilleshall, England.

Mark came first in the junior selection so he is now the top ranking junior men’s recurve archer in the UK and can shoot for Team GB junior archers until he is 20. Mark also qualified for selection to Team GB’s Senior Men’s squad by coming third in the Senior section.

Shooting for both Junior and Senior GB teams will keep Mark busy in the months ahead. He is off to Italy next week to compete in the European Outdoor Target Championships with the Senior squad.

He is then part of the Team GB Junior Team taking part in the European Outdoor Junior Championships in Germany in early summer.
