Based in the Garvagh area, the club takes its name after the Agivey River that flows through the town.

The club was formed after a group of enthusiastic local cyclists took part in the Giro di Glen event on 28th September, 2014. An inaugural committee was formed on 13 November, 2014 and the reality of establishing a new club bore fruit.
