The club and its members already take part in charity events, dual and triathlon events, winter mountain biking on local trails to complement their regular road cycling rides.

Also throughout the year, the club members will also take part in sportive events that each county has to offer. Each Saturday and Sunday the club provide a few alternative cycle rides - one ride aimed at beginners and more social cycling and the other a longer ride that caters for more experienced riders.

SMCC meet on Saturdays at 6am outside the Mace Store on Longstone Street and on Sundays at 8am. During the darker part of the year lights are required.

SMCC will also support a chosen Northern Ireland charity that receive donations through money raised during events. This year they are supporting the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice.
