New officials at the Northern Ireland Gloster Club

THERE was a good attendance at the AGM of the Northern Ireland Gloster Fancy Club in Ballymoney.

Two long serving officials indicated their intention to retire from office. Robin Dickson had acted as show secretary for 27 years while Steven Gage had been secretary/treasurer for 10 years. Both fanciers had been great workers for the Club and the members wish to express their thanks for their efforts over the years.

Mr. Aubrey Crowe, chairman of the Mid-Antrim Gloster Club, conducted the election of officials ehich resulted as follows:- President Bob Moore (re-elected); Vice President Mervyn Mclaughlin; Chairman Norman Pearson (re-elected); Vice-Chairman Moore McIlhatton; Hon secretary John Hartin, 37 Kilraughts Road, Ballymoney, Co. Antrim BT53 7HL; Hon treasurer Chris Owens; Show Secretary Ian McIlhatton; Show Manager Mervyn McLaughlin; Ring Secretary Caroline Lamont, 38 Drumskea Road, Ballymoney.

Rings are now available at a cost of 3.30 per stick of ten. This year's colour is orange. All ring orders to Caroline Lamont must be accompanied by payment plus annual membership fee of 10; senior citizens 5 and partnerships 15. A stamped addressed envelope would be appreciated.

Judges were discussed for the annual show on 9th October and a number were to be invited to officiate. This show will be biled as the Robert Riches Memorial Show, in memory of the popular member who passed away in 2009. Once again entries will be by post in advance, with an emergency telephone number of the show secretary.

Patronage applications should be sent to the hon secretary whenever judges have been engaged. The fee remians 5 per club. Closing date is 31st August. No exceptions! Any Gloster enthusiast in Northern Ireland who is not a club member will be very welcome to join. This year will be the Club's 57th year, having been founded in 1953.

Sales Day in Broughshane

The first Sales Day of the year takes place in Broughshane Community Centre on Saturday 27th March. Tables can be booked by ringing Ronnie on 0287954 9212. So come along and pick up a bargain.
