New pupils at Lismore

LISMORE Comprehensive School welcomed 185 pupils into Year 8 on Wednesday, September 1, from 17 feeder primary schools.

Pupils participated in a comprehensive two day induction programme to ensure a smooth transition. This involved pupils getting to know key school personnel, a tour of the school, a quiz, a mass celebrated by Lismore’s School Chaplain, Fr Martin McAlinden and various presentations on anti bullying, positive behaviour, the student council and healthy eating. The successful programme was co-ordinated by Miss Helen Lavery and was supported by the Senior Management Team, Year 8 Year Head, Form Tutors and Year 14 Peer Mentors who were assigned to each Year 8 class.
