New snooker season cues off next week

THE new season in the Ballymena and District Snooker league breaks off next Monday, September 19.

This season there will be two divisions of six teams. Last year’s 10 teams are set to be joined by two new teams from the Triangle club in Coleraine, namely Triangle Allstars and Triangle Aces.

The two divisions will consist of the following teams:

Division One: Minnesota A, Minnesota B, Fountain Jokers, Parochial Hawks, Dunloy United, Triangle Aces.

Division Two: Minnesota Strikers, Dunloy Cowboys, Dunloy Galaxy, Fountain Aces, Parochial Lions, Triangle Allstars.

CHARITY SHIELD

The first competition of the new season is, as always, the Charity Shield with the 12 teams divided into four groups of three with the top two from each group advancing to the quarter-finals. The groups are:

Group A: Parochial Lions, Fountain Aces and Minnesota A.

Group B: Parochial Hawks, Fountain Jokers and Minnesota B.

Group C: Dunloy Cowboys, Triangle Allstars and Minnesota Strikers.

Group D: Dunloy Galaxy , Dunloy united and Triangle Aces
