New sponsor for five mile road race

This year's event will take place on Friday 30 July at 7pm and will now be known as the NFU Mutual 5 mile road race, the usual kids fun runs will run alongside the main event on an off road course around the Leisure Centre.

With the current down turn in the economy race organisers Alistair Bratten and John Faul were fearful that such a popular race would disappear from the running calendar because of lack funding.

The new sponsor of the NFU Mutual 5m road race is the local business of Gregg, Calvin and Lennox who operate an agency of the NFU Mutual.
