New sponsorship deal for Blues

The deal covers match sponsorship and the annual Glenavon Golf Classic in addition to other ongoing sponsorship.

Lurgan Credit Union President Pat Kelly welcomed the representatives of Glenavon to their Church Place premises and went on to say: “Glenavon Football Club has played such a major role in Lurgan since its inception.

"By all accounts it’s a club that, through its sporting achievements, has embraced all communities of this town. That’s why Lurgan Credit Union is so pleased to offer sponsorship to Glenavon as we wish to further promote the services we offer to all parts of our community and, in particular, to make the younger generation aware of the many benefits of being a member of Lurgan Credit Union.

Glenavon Chairman Adrian Teer responded: "A five year sponsorship speaks for itself as a tremendous act of support to the football club and is in many ways a unique agreement as many sponsorship deals are only for a year or two or three years at the most.

“Lurgan Credit Union is not new to supporting Glenavon and you have been more than generous to us over the last few years and we are really pleased that you have come to us and offered to put your support on a more formal basis.

“I would also like to thank our Commercial Director Ian Irwin who was involved in the initial working out of the deal. It was a pleasure to deal with your people and we were able to tease out a very harmonious agreement in a fairly short space of time.”
