As many as 34 riders signed up in excellent conditions to take on this fast course. Sean Mcintyre won in 2014 and 2015 and was expected to make it three in a row but having a recent injury, it was always going to be a tough ask.

His 20 minute ride was some effort but it was Newry Wheelers’ Sean Featherstone who took the Cup and £60 home with him.

There were some excellent times on the night with plenty of 20s, 21s, 22s and 23s with plenty of marshalls on duty to make it a good safe TT.

The Wheelers would like to thank the following people for all their help: timekeepers Billy, Clive and Paul (Jacko), marshalls Berty, Karl, Mark, Philip (Tin), Barbara and the Maxwell family. Also to Sammy for the superb photos.

Three riders from West Down Wheelers traveled to Omagh to take part in the John Mulligan Mem Road Race. In the A4s, Allister and Andy had indifferent days with Allister getting caught out by a crash in front of him and Andy going well before the lead car broke down in front of him causing him to break hard and lose his position.

As Race Secretary, Clive Adamson says he is “delighted with the attitude of the riders in every race this year.

“In the Noel Teggart next week, we have Paul, Dave, Andy, Allister, Matt, Brandon and Ian all signed up to ride. That shows the interest there is in the club at this time.”
