NI Seniors team to take on localSelect sides

COLERAINE Select teams will take on the Northern Ireland Seniors squad in a series of matches in Coleraine this Sunday.

The Sperrin Club will sponsor and host the event from 1pm.

The Seniors will use the matches as a warm up for their forthcoming trip to Malta for the European Masters in November.

The Seniors team will be captained by Darren Sterrett, past NI Seniors champions.

Also expected to play on Sunday is Lisburn cueist Stephen Johnston, who was a European finalist at Bridlington and Davy McGurn from Omagh, the Seniors Tour winner and No1 ranked player.

The team also includes: Kenny English, the Larne and Carrick Seniors champion and 2009 European Seniors Champion; Davy Drysdale from Portavogie, 2009 European Seniors champion; and Raymond Stockman from Coleraine, the local Seniors champion and NI Trials winner.

The Coleraine Select Teams have yet to be confirmed but captain Damien Reid will call upon Coleraine 147 Singles champion Marc Hutchinson as well as Lee Hull, Billy Moore, Ricky McMullan and Allen Tosh. Willie Eakin will also skipper a Select team.

A barbecue and drink promos will also be held.
