Niamh wins Menary Cup

ONE of the major ladies’ trophies, the Menary Cup, was played for on Monday, June 11.

The weather was very favourable and there was a large turn out of ladies both from Lurgan and visiting clubs. Indeed there were visitors from as far away as Dunfanaghy to Royal County Down.

The course was playing long but in the end the major trophy went to Lurgan’s rising star, Niamh McSherry.

Mr Terry Murphy presented the prizes on behalf of the sponsor Terra Travel.

The prize winners were as follows:

Menary Cup - winner: Niamh McSherry – Nett 70

Section B (21-28): Debbie McCollum – Nett 72

Section C (29-36): Linda Hamilton – Nett 74

R/U Section A: Maeve Cummins – Nett 72

R/U Section B: Fran McCann – Nett 74

R/U Section C: Dolores O’Neill – Nett 75

1st Nine: R Harvey – Tandragee : 2nd Nine: Anne Knox

Twos: Orla O’Dowd, Sheena McStay, Betty McKavanagh.
