NIBA honour for Noel

Lisnagarvey bowler, Noel Graham, received a prestigious award at the annual meeting of the Northern Ireland Bowling Association, when he was made an honorary member.

The honour is well deserved as Noel captained Ireland for several years and is still a member of the team.

He started his bowling career at Hilden before moving to Dromore and has been a member of Garvey for many years ever since those early days.

The Hillsborough man has played with distinction in stadium bowls and currently plays short mat at his home club, Loughaghery Presbyterian. He has represented Lisburn in the Inter Zone Cup.

Meanwhile, Nick Haire, Hillsborough Social, won his way through to three National finals at the Lisburn Zone qualifiers at Eglantine Parish hall on Saturday night, winning the singles, triples and fours.
