No Cup final defeat hangover for Tobermore

TOBERMORE boss Johnny Law’s hopes that the disappointment of the midweek cup final defeat would have little or no affect on his sides performance on Saturday took an early knock as Sport and Leisure went in front inside two minutes from the kick off.
The big Belfast side, currently ground sharing with Larne, looked really up for the game as they sought revenge for the two nil defeat they suffered at the hands of Tobermore earlier in the season at Fortwilliam Park.

The home side had a man sent off early in the second half which seemed to help their cause as they upped the anti looking for their second goal but it was Tobermore who struck next with Ryan Marks putting Tobermore 2-1 up on the hour mark and he added his second near the end to give his side a comfortable 3-1 win.
The victory lifts Tobermore into 3rd place in the league and boss Johnny Law said after the game: “It was always going to be a tough game down here and we didn’t help our cause by conceding the early goal but we stuck at it and I thought we deserved the win”.
Please note that Tobermore’s home game against Portstewart this Saturday has been brought forward to a 1.00 kick off to allow players and fans to watch the televised Co-operative Insurance Cup final between Coleraine and Glentoran.
