The week started on Tuesday with the semi-final and final of the Intervarsity Matchplay Championship which started back in October - the format allows for the ladies to play against the men and the University of Ulster won a closely fought final 4-1 with pre-tournament favourites NUI Maynooth with Paula beating Shaun Carter by two holes.

The week continued with a stroke play event played over two days in which the ladies played 36 holes and the men played 54 holes.

Paula was the pre-tournament favourite for the ladies event having won the previous two events at Carton House and Strandhill (where she broke the ladies course record) - the field included a number of lady internationals.

Paula shot a stunning first round of 68 (four under par) to lead the field by six shots and extended her lead on the second day to eight shots with a 79 in cold and blustery conditions. Ryan Gribben completed a University of Ulster clean sweep of titles (also with an eight shots win) in the men’s event with a sensational three under par total.

Paula moves on to the Women’s Interprovincial Championships at Castle Dargan over Easter and then to the R&A Scholars tournament in St Andrews in early April.
