NO MORE EXCUSES SAYS QUINN

The Blues take on fellow strugglers Dungannon Swifts at Mourneview Park on Saturday (kick-off 3pm) before playing Carrick Rangers and Ballymena United in their following two league matches.

The Lurgan side are currently three points adrift of Carrick and Lisburn Distillery and five behind Saturday’s opponents Dungannon and so Quinn knows that getting points is more vital than ever if they are to avoid being cut off at the foot of the table.

“The next three games are massive against Dungannon, Carrick and Ballymena. They’re all six pointers and are must win games,” he said.

“No more excuses, no nothing, just get on with the game and get the three points on the board. We have to start winning. I’ve said this and that but nothing’s changed and it’s time it did change.

“We deserve to be bottom at the moment and if we don’t get a few wins it’ll be serious stuff.

“We just have to go all out and get a win on Saturday. We need to make sure we don’t give any stupid goals away early on. Dungannon are hard to beat at the best of times but it’s an absolutely massive game for us; for myself, the squad and the staff.”

In order to turn around performances and results, Quinn is set to ring the changes to his starting eleven this Saturday as players will be paying for below par performances.

Midfield duo Niall Henderson and Ciaran Doherty will again be available for selection whilst impressive substitutes Mark Miskimmin and Anto McGonnell could also be in line for a start as Quinn considers as many as six changes to his line-up.

“I saw a few things in the side that we’ll be tweaking and changing for Saturday,” he said.

“There’ll be a few changes here and there and hopefully we can get back to winning ways against Dungannon.

“Niall Henderson was a big loss for us last week. He’s been playing well and hopefully he’ll be back for Saturday’s game. Ciaran Doherty has now served his two-match suspension so both of those players will come into contention for a start on Saturday.

“Alan Davidson’s been carrying an ankle injury but he came on on Saturday and did well so he’ll be considered for a starting place, as will Doherty, Henderson and O’Hare. There’s every likelihood that Mark Miskimmin and Anto McGonnell could come in as well, having impressed last week so there could be five or six changes”
