No more signings

MARTY Quinn has ruled out any further signings at Mourneview Park following the news that Gary Hamilton WILL be remaining at his parent club Glentoran this season.

Hamilton, of course, joined Glenavon on loan last season but, having repaired his relationship with Glentoran manager Scott Young, will be brought back in to the Glens’ first team squad.

And that means that Glenavon’s squad for the coming season is now complete, as Quinn says there is ‘no chance’ of further additions:

“My squad will remain as it is. There is no chance of anybody else coming in. I’m happy with the squad I have assembled at Mourneview Park.

“Gary’s now on board as a Glentoran player again and in a way I’m glad for him to get back playing football.

“It would have been a shame that he would have been kept out. I suspected that Gary wouldn’t be coming to us anyway and that’s why I went ahead with my signings.”

At Glentoran, Hamilton had previously been restricted to training with the club’s U18s but, after striker Matty Burrows left the club, the forward has been brought back into the fold, although has taken a wage cut to do so.
