No stopping Loughanreagh

LOUGHANREAGH are still well out in front at the top of North West Division One after they picked up another 6.5 points away to Dunluce last week.

The league leaders are nine points clear on second placed Ballinerees following this win over Dunluce, who are currently third.

Ballinrees kept themselves in the hunt with a 16-shot win over Montra. The reigning champions know they have to pick up big scores to topple Loughanreagh and they did just that winning three of the four rinks to earn themselves six points.

Russell Millar put the visitors in front though as he beat Victor Millen by five. However Kenny McNeill made sure the hosts were in front at the break as he recorded an 11-shot win over Peter Whittaker.

After the break Jonathan Calvin squeezed past Paul Donnelly by a single shot and William Calvin beat Ivan Tennant by nine.

Boveedy missed out on the opportunity to leapfrog Dunluce as they slipped to a 21-shot defeat away to Second Kilrea. Alan Catherwood had given them a five shot lead, but Alan Paul hit back for the hosts beating Nigel Gamble by 12.

Margaret Johnston saw off Ronnie Catherwood by nine shots and Nicky McCaw added another four to the total as he beat Stephen White.

Marian overtook Moneydig in the table as they beat them on their travels by 11 shots.

Both sides won two rinks with Brian McFetridge and Trevor Workman victorious for the hosts. But John Rainey's big win coupled with James Martin's victory sealed it for Marian.

St Mary's continue to dominate in Division Two as they increased their lead at the top with a 22-shot win over Castlerock. Arthur Rainey saw off Brian Wilson by eight and Ronnie Milliken edged past Ronnie Steele by three.

Jackie Hutchinson secured a point for Castlerock with a one shot win over Declan McCann, but John Campbell's 12-shot win over Victor Callaghan made sure of the win for the leaders over their nearest challengers.

Garvagh and District moved level on points with First Coleraine as they beat them by six shots at home. Clifford McLernon and Bryan Shaw gave the visitors a six shot lead at the break.

However Ken McLenaghan beat Colin Hutchinson by 12 and David Workman saw off Jim Campbell by two to seal the win.

Killowen closed the gap at the bottom of the table as they beat Drumreagh by three shots despite winning only one rink.

Joe Davis and Richard Clyde shared the spoils before Carson Boyd and Martin Marks gave Drumreagh a five shot lead.

But Sadie Davis recorded a seven shot win over Edwin Jackson to give her side the overall win.
