Norman goes down a Storm in Belfast!

The 23-year-old told Times Sport ahead of the bout it could be the toughest of his career to date.

But he rose to the occasion to see off Marcos Nardini in front of a packed audience at Belfast’s Kings Hall.

“It went really well and the game plan worked,” said a delighted Norman afterwards.

“I had to make a few changes after my opponent was changed last week and thanks to my coaches for getting me ready for the fight.

“I am just happy to get the victory .

“I don’t think the ring rust affected me after 14 months out.

“I will leave the next fight up to my management. They have a few big things in the pipeline for me.

“I will just take a week off, relax and eat loads of cake and then get back into the gym and just take it from there.”

In the other fights Colin Robinson lost to Neil Wain, Paddy McBride beat Stephen McCourt, Greg Loughran overcame Martin Begley, Andy Young lost to Alan Philpott.

Michael Putlak beat Anthony McGrath and Paddy McBride hammered Stephen McCourt to a first round stoppage. And Arnaud Dos Santos lost to Ray Smyth, while Keith Coady was beaten by Gavin Kelly.
