In this local derby the scene was set for an exciting match, especially as the two teams had met in the first round last year. Northern got off to a flying start being 25 shots up after the first five ends.

However North-West started to pull back but at half-time Northern still had a 16 shot advantage.

In the third end the second half North-West ladies picked up a seven and a five to leave the game fairly evenly balanced.

The game swung one way and then the other and with only one end remaining, the score was 51 shots each. However the North-West ladies held their nerve and won the match by three shots.
