Northwest Triathlon Club Winter 5k series

Sunday 6th December saw the 2nd event in the North West Triathlon Clubs’ Winter 5k Series take place and once again Springwell runners dominated the ladies race, with a terrific 1-2 by Fran McFadden and Amanda Connell, both running PBs in the process, 20:03 and 20:33 respectively.

Fran McFadden - back-to-back wins on Saturday and Sunday

This was Frans’ second overall win in two consecutive days, following on from her success at the Beone 10K, so all the more impressive! Well done to Amanda too, for a great run and good to see her continue to improve.

Not to be out-done our two male representaives, Aiden Devine (18:38) and Warren McIlmoyle (19:28) also recorded PBs on the day! Excellent performances by both guys, with Aiden also having recorded a PB at Limavady park run the previous day! There must be something in the water in Limavady.

Congratulations must go to Junior club member Conor McGowan who finished a fantastic 2nd overall in the Ulster Secondary Schools Aquathon Championships.

So all in all, a brilliant weekend for the club in terms of results and achievements and we would like to thank you all for braving the elements.
