Drummers show dedication

Members of Bleary and District Pipe Band showed their dedication in 1985 when they staged a ten hour drumming marathon.

From nine in the morning to seven in the evening they drummed loud and long to raise badly needed funds for new drums and tunics.

And just after packing up their drums at Mourneview Community Centre they received a phone call informing them that four of their pipers had won the grade three title at the Ulster Quartet Championships.

The four winning pipers were Pipe Major Jimmy Johnston, Ian Dawson, Nigel Davidson and John Moles.
