Maid of Honour to Queen donates Hartnell dress to Royal exhibition

THE dress worn by Lady Moyra, one of six handmaids, or maids of honour to HM Queen Elizabeth II on her Coronation day in 1953, will be on display in St Columb’s Cathedral for two days: Tomorrow, Friday, June 22 and on Saturday.

The dress will be displayed in the Chancel of the Cathedral, and doors to the exhibition will open at 11am.

It is one of a series of unique artefacts on display as part of a Jubilee Exhibition collated by museum guide, Ian Bartlett.

While Lady Moyrra’s ‘Coronation dress’ will only be on display for two days, the exhibition in the Chapter House at the Cathedral will be open to the public until the end of July.
