Milestone marked in Ballyclare

Ballyclare Secondary School celebrated its Silver Jubilee in October 1986.

There were a number of events planned to mark the special occasion.

The commemorations began with a service of thanksgiving, with former headmaster, Mr Bill Sterling, unveiling a plaque.

The events were organised to enable both past and present pupils to look back at the first 25 years of the school.

A special anniversary magazine was produced to commemorate the anniversary.

A reunion dinner and a gala concert took place in December 1986. This concert featured musical shows which had been staged by pupils at the school over the years. The headmaster in 1986, Mr Samuel McCrea, was pleased that people could look back.
