Over £10,000 worth of stolen jewellery recovered

OVER £10,000 worth of stolen jewellery was recovered by police in Craigavon in February 1983.

The haul was a result of a series of thefts in houses in the area. Police said the valuables were found in houses in the Craigavon and Portadown areas.

Included in the items recovered were rings, watches, earrings, bracelets and necklaces, with the value of the items placed at around 10,000.

The number of jewellery thefts in the area had risen considerably in recent weeks, and, in one break-in alone at Parkmore, over 1,000 worth of jewellery was taken.
