Prime Minister to visit Larne

Prime Minister Captain Terence O’Neill was to visit Larne in May 1963.

It was to be his first official tour of the town since he took office.

Capt. O’Neill was to be accompanied by William Craig, MInister of Home Affairs and Member for the Larne Constituency.

The Prime Minister was to be received by the mayor and members of the borough council before lunch with the directors of Larne Harbour Limited.

Afterwards, he was to board the “Caledonian Princess” and one of the container ships.

His itinerary was to include a visit to the North of Ireland’s paper mill, the AEI factory and Larne Technical College.

Captain O’Neill assumed office in March 1963.
